What to expect

Pick-up from your hotel in Athens, and drive to Delphi, located on the spur of mount Parnassus, enjoying dozens of country-side sites, beautiful villages and cities, like Thiva (Hercules birth-town), and Levadia. A short stop in the picturesque town of Arachova overlooking the olives-valley of Delphi. Arrive in Delphi, and visit the theater, where you will enjoy amazing views of the surrounding mountains, and get an insight into the world of the most important cult center of ancient Greece. Stroll around the temple of Apollo,and discover the secrets of its famous oracle. You will hear insightful commentary about the attractions in prior, so you will have time to explore all of the sites independently, at your own pace. The museum of Delphi, houses the unique bronze statue of the Charioteer, the archaic statues of the twins Cleovis and Viton, the Naxian Sphinx, and the statue of the athlete Aghias, providing a great insight into Ancient Greek culture and history.

After you have explored Delphi, a lunch in the Delhi village, is a must. Try the delicious local traditional dishes! Then we head back to Athens, or if you extend the tour, visit the Byzantine monastery of Osios Lucas situated on the hills of the Parnassus mountain.
