As we are locals, we know better the best places to get the characteristic traditional snacks and delicacies of our country. We are at your disposal to offer you our knowledge and expertize. Some of the morning snacks of the Greeks, is the bougatsa, sweet pastry with cream, (or cheese, or spinach). The koulouri, is also a morning or lunch tome snack. The loukoumades are like donats, but taste much better than honey dumplings, olives, sausages, feta cheese and more Greek specialties Yogurt, honey, fruit-jams, kourambiedes, and all kind of filo pastries. Most popular is the tyropita (cheese-pie), the spanakopita, (spinach-pie) and the zabonotyropita. (ham and cheese pie). Of course the gyros and souvlaki, is a world famous Greek quick snack or meal. Nowhere else has the same taste as in Greece. The tzatziki yogurt sauce and onions rapped in a pitta with meat in the gyros, or the souvlaki. Alongside the motivated guide, you will visit the central market of Athens, the Varvakeios. Inside is the meat-market, fish and the spices and herbs. This private small-group tour has to be with a limited participants, in order to make it as intimate possible, (12 persons). At the Syntagma sq., and Parliament building, you will be able to admire change of the Efzones guard, and some more attractions, if the permits.

What to expect

Meeting is at the city-center. near the Acropolis museum entrance, to start the 4-hour tour. Take off into the streets of Plaka and Monastiraki, at your own pace, making stops at sweet-bread smelling bakeries, spice shops-merchants, snack-bars, dairies, delicatessens and pie-pastry shops. Get a true taste of Greek culinary culture, trying a variety of all sorts of specialty snacks and local dishes. The beloved koulouri, a special round-formed bread with sesame seeds.
