Pick-up from your place/hotel of stay at 08:00. Tour includes: Athens - Corinth - Epidarus - Mycenae, drive through Tripolis, Megalopolis to Olympia (night-stay). Visit of Olympia, the Olympia museum, and afternoon drive to Patras, Rio and Corinth. From Corinth back to Athens. We will take you in safety and comfort at the most significant attractions of Greece.

What to expect

The private 2-day tour to ancient Olympia is designed for those who want to experience insightful the Greek spirit and enjoy it's wonderful nature. The tour includes also the visit to several UNESCO world heritage sites, like the Epidaurus theater and site, the prehistoric Homeric golden Mycenae, the ancient Corinth and the amazing sized Corinth canal.

Day 1

The 2 day private tour starts from Athens. and your driver-guide will lead take you along the coastal road to Corinth Canal for a short stop. You will enjoy the breathtaking views and take pictures. Next is the ancient Corinth to see the major attractions of the historic and biblical city of Apostle Paul. We will continue to Epidaurus, to visit the spectacular ancient theater, famous for it's acoustics. After lunch at Nafplio, our next stop is at the Acropolis of Mycenae, the Homeric heroes prehistoric citadel. This civilization is the first of Europe and is ended after the Troyan war at the 12th century BC. We will visit also the treasure of Atreas, the gigantic tomb of the king Atreas. Through the high way passing close to Tripolis and Megalopolis, arrival at Olympia (night-stay).

Day 2

Between the marvelous landscape of Olympia with it's valleys and rivers, is the ancient site of the cradle of the Olympics. You will see the original Olympic stadium, the Zeus temple, the Palaistra, Hera Temple, the Gymnasium, the Philippeio, the workshop of Pheidias, the famous scalptor of the Zeus statue, one of the seven wonders of the antiquity, and dozens of interest attractions and monuments. Ancient Olympia has been the greatest worship cult-place and important Pan-Hellenic center for 1200 years. The Olympics were dedicated to god Zeus and began officially at 776 B.C. It is still the venue of the Olympic Flame ceremonial, that takes place every 2 years. You will hear the insightful commentary for the attractions in prior, so you can Independent walk around the archaeological site at your own pace.

The visit of the museum is very impressive. The artifacts and collections related with the ancient cult center and the Olympics are simply amazing. You will admire some of the master-peaces of art, like the statue of the goddess of victory Nike. (the figure of the statue, decorates one side of the Olympic winners medal). The statue of Hermes, work of possibly the best artist ever, the Athenian Praxitelis and hundreds more.

After the museum and lunch, we head to Patras city, the main port of west Greece, and the spectacular Rio - Antirio bridge (connects the Peloponnese with the mainland). We continue to Corinth and finally arriving late in afternoon/evening back in Athens. You can customize your private guided tour at anytime on the way or before your arrival. Also, you may extend the tour in a 3-day version, and include the visit to Delphi.
